An iron arrowhead with a characteristic design: a broad blade and stem, typical of the period of the Mongol invasions of Europe in the 13th century. Such weapon was in use among nomadic Mongols. Transport and trade routes also provided corridors for military raids. In the 13th century, the Lublin region found itself en route of most of the Ruthenian and Mongol assaults on Polish lands. The arrowhead might be a material trace of the Mongol influx of 1278 recorded in historical sources. In that year, Polish knights pushed the nomads away from an attempted crossing on the Vistula River.
