Availability is not the same as accessibility. We know that doing is more enjoyable than just looking, but knowing what to do can be daunting. We’ve assembled a set of activities relating to the collection presented here to give some inspiration and share the techniques used in archaeology.
These activities are intended as inspiration for school groups of all ages and capabilities but are equally available for everyone. Take what you like, ignore what you don’t and adapt them to objects that are closest to your region or interests.
Some of the activities are based on the archaeological process, others are more playful. The most important thing to remember whichever you choose is to enjoy yourself and use your imagination. Remember, the more you look the more find. Even the smallest of details can lead to a rich tapestry of discovery.
